Balancing School and Gaming
Many people think you have to choose between "gaming" and "school." The truth is that with a good schedule, you can have both and do well at both.
Work first, game second
Our brains work better with a "reward." If you treat gaming as a reward after studying, you'll study better and enjoy gaming more.
Use the Pomodoro technique
- 25 minutes of focused study;
- 5 minutes of break;
- After a few rounds, a longer break (which can be gaming).
Set a time limit for gaming too
"One more match" usually turns into ten! Decide how many minutes you'll play ahead of time and set a timer.
💡 Offline and short games are great when time is limited; we have some good picks in this list.
Don't sacrifice sleep for gaming
Staying up late to play ruins both tomorrow's school and tomorrow's gaming. A tired brain doesn't learn well or play well.
Exercise and real friends
Being a gamer is great, but your body needs movement too. A little exercise and time with friends even makes your gaming better because your mind stays fresh.
Balance means winning at gaming and at life. You can have both.
