How to Sit While Gaming Without Back and Neck Pain
You might not feel pain now, but bad posture while gaming can hurt your back and neck after a few years. Prevent it with these simple habits.
Sit up straight
Keep your back straight and lean against the chair. Hunching over your phone is the worst position for your neck.
Raise your phone/screen
Instead of dropping your head down, hold your phone higher so it's level with your eyes. For long sessions, a stand helps a lot.
Feet on the floor
Your feet should be flat on the floor, not dangling or tucked under you.
Stand up every half hour
- Get up and walk a bit;
- Roll your neck and shoulders;
- Do a few stretches.
💡 The same short breaks that help your eyes (the 20-20-20 rule) are a great chance to move your body too. Read more here.
Don't forget your hands
Keep your wrists in a neutral position. If you game a lot, warm up your hands first — hand warmup guide.
A healthy body is the foundation of a good gamer. Take care of it.
